A beautiful old Queenslander in the middle of the main arterial in Brisbane's New Farm district is home to the Iwan Bookshop. When you enter the colourful, independent bookshop with its hand-picked range, time seems to slow down for a moment. It’s a small oasis in a hectic neighbourhood. It smells of coffee, the walls are painted in blue and yellow and red, the shelves with books in different languages and colourful titles directly invite you to linger. SBS correspondent Katharina Loesche is talking with Tina, the owner of the young bookshop.
