A glass of alcohol often accompanies us as a matter of course. Yet the considerable long-term risks are often underestimated - or ignored. Professor Emmanuel Kuntsche is Director of the Institute of Alcohol Policy Research at La Trobe University in Melbourne. We talked to him about healthy amounts of alcohol, the marketing tricks of the alcohol industry and whether legislation and bans can help curb our alcohol consumption. He also tells us how a disinterested student from the Black Forest became an institute director in Melbourne.
