Microforests provide shade

Dr. Sebastian Pfautsch: wirbt für mehr Wälder
On hot days, there is often a lack of shade in our big cities. The sun is burning mercilessly on the roads and canyons of houses and there is no tree to be seen far and wide. The concept of micro-forests or micro-forests is an approach to bring people and nature back together in densely built-up urban areas. Dr. Sebastian Pfautsch from Western Sydney University is an associate professor in urban planning. He says that the methodology behind micro-forests comes from a creative Japanese-German approach to forest management.
