What defines a good children's book? An exciting story? A good text? Of course, the words in a book are essential, but what about the pictures? We spoke to Brisbane-based illustrator Katrin Dreiling, who describes her art as “as if painted by children.” Katrin actually studied high school teaching in Germany, but it was here in Australia that she discovered her passion for picture books. Starting as a self-printed Do It Yourself project, she launched a completely new career...
