In seven days, the FIFA Women's World Cup kicks off in Australia and New Zealand. Someone who has been looking forward to this day for months is Oli Kerbler.

He has been an enthusiastic fan of the German national team since he was a child and has barely missed a German World Cup or European Championship match since 1988 - live, in the stadium.

Kerbler calls Melbourne home for 20 years. This means that whenever a tournament is coming up, he flies halfway around the globe to support the German national team. His holidays are always in line with the club and national team schedule.

Next week, for the first time he will become the host. Because hundreds of German fans are expected in Australia to support the German women's national team here in Australia. SBS reporter Daniel Georgakos spoke to the football lover.
