Today is the international "World Food Safety Day." On this day, the aim is to draw attention to food standards.

In fact, one in ten people worldwide fall ill each year due to contaminated food. On average, food poisoning affects an estimated 4 million people in Australia each year. Australia records over 30,000 hospitalisations and around 80 deaths each year. Food standards can help ensure our food is safe. SBS reporter Daniel Georgakos has done some research on the topic.
