Silent Night is been sung by an estimated two billion people around the globe in more than 300 languages and dialects.


As the world-famous Christmas carol turns 200 years this Christmas Eve, SBS spoke to Gerhard Leskovar, Marketing Manager at Salzburg´s Tourist Board, about the song´s origins, its meaning and how the anniversary is being celebrated.
