Behind the scenes of the Queensland Museum you will find everything that could once crawl and bite you - soaked in alcohol. Among other things, you’ll find the most poisonous spider in the world, the Sydney funnel-web spider. SBS correspondent Katharina Loesche meets Dr. Danilo Harms, head of the arachnology department at the University of Hamburg, at the museum in Brisbane.

In an interview, he explains which centuries-old relationships exist between the Hanseatic city in Germany and Brisbane, why the Funnel Web Spider has not yet been extensively researched, and why he named one of the smallest spiders in the world after a well-known German fashion designer.
