Easter is just around the corner. In Franconian Switzerland, north-east of Nuremberg, the Easter fountains are being decorated these days. Volunteers paint thousands of eggs in various sizes. SBS correspondent Daniel Salg visited the largest Easter fountain. It is located in the small village of Bieberbach.

Barbara Pickelmann looks after the fountain in cooperation with the local heritage organisation. With well over 10,000 eggs, it has even set a world record. In this interview, Pickelmann reveals why she thinks the Easter fountain tradition is anything but old-fashioned.
