The John Friedrich case is considered one of the most spectacular cases of fraud in Australian history. In the 1980s, the immigrant from Germany illegally rose from an employee of a small rescue organization to the celebrated head of the National Safety Council of Australia. Under his leadership, the organization grows rapidly — and Frederick becomes a national hero. But behind the bright image lies a gigantic fraud. After all, it is a stubborn man who brings down the house of cards and reveals the man's true identity.
