The German “celebrities” of Mount Isa

Sabine and Dr. Ulrich Orda originally come from Krefeld. Since 2008, they have lived in Mount Isa, in northwestern Queensland. Ulrich Orda is head of the emergency department at the local hospital. In 2021, he received the 'Legend of the Bush' award. This year, he was presented with the Queensland Rural Health Medal. His wife Sabine has also received an award: the Excellence in Health Care Medal. She manages the hospital's emergency department and runs the medical training there.
