Australia's Fair Work Ombudsman has launched legal action against Foodora. The Australian Tax Office is chasing the German food delivery company for unpaid tax. And an unspecified number of riders have not been paid superannuation. What in the world has happened?

Australia's Fair Work Ombudsman has launched legal action against Foodora. The Australian Tax Office is chasing the German food delivery company for unpaid tax. And an unspecified number of riders have not been paid superannuation. What in the world has happened?


Interestingly, Foodora's German website in Berlin lists food delivery operations in 34 German cities and nine foreign countries, including Australia. However, if you click on the Australian site, you are greeted with the following message:

"We have discontinued delivery operations. Thank you for choosing Foodora. For creditor enquiries, please contact: enquiries@foodora.com.au"
