The whale's immune system

Catharina Vendle researched the immune system of whales for her doctoral thesis. To do this, she compared the bacteria in the respiratory tract of the whales that are at the beginning of their annual migration with those of the whales that are at the end of their migration. It is not so easy to extract this, and how she did it and what the result was, we learn in this interview from Barbara Barkhausen. The paper will be published on the 28th of July in a UK scientific publication.
