Australia likes to see itself as the most successful multicultural country in the world. However, the tensions in that Australian success story are increasingly obvious.


Now, Gladys Berejiklian, herself the daughter of Armenian immigrants, wants Sydney’s  intake of new arrivals halved.

The NSW Premier says, immigration in NSW had been allowed to “balloon out of control”.

Swiss-born immigration expert Astrid Perry tells Wolfgang Mueller that the Premier’s call is regrettable and only politically motivated.
