Linde Mohr is the president of the Australian-German Welfare Society in Melbourne, which was founded in 1954. At that time, many German immigrants came to Australia and were looking for support with general issues, such als finding work, a place to live and just dealing with the new language. Then, the organization was still supported by the German government, but today they are relying on donations and of course new members, of which there are about 900 at the moment. The organization is working together with two nursing homes and also has a lot to offer for younger generations, such as a book club, films and a day nursery.
