"We lived very simply and it was a beautiful adventure"

Claudia Semmler sounds like a real Munich native. In her passport, however, it says place of birth: Carlton. That sometimes causes astonishment, says Claudia. As soon as she shows her ID, the question arises: "Where is Carlton, please?" Carlton is an inner suburb of Melbourne and this is exactly where Claudia Semmler was born as a child of German immigrants. At the age of 5 she moved back to Germany with her parents. Can Claudia still remember the first five years of her life? What did it do to her to be born in Australia?
