The question of why a sunfish washed up on the coast of California in 2019 is still a matter of concern to science today. Why? Because the species Mola tecta actually only lives in the southern hemisphere. A researcher from New Zealand has been trying to track down the fish for years. In doing so, she relies on Citizen Science.
