Η Παμμεσσηνιακή Αδελφότητα 'Ο Παπαφλέσσας" κλείνει φέτος 60 χρόνια προσφοράς στα παροικιακά δρώμενα της Μελβούρνης. Γιορτάζει όμως και έναν άλλο σημείο σταθμό στην ιστορία του, την εκλογή της πρώτης γυναίκας στην προεδρία του συλλόγου. Η Παναγιώτα Δημητροπούλου μίλησε στο SBS Greek για τις προτεραιότητές της αλλά και την απόφασή της να διεκδικήσει την προεδρία.
Panayiota Dimitropoulos has been an active participant and member of the board of Papaflessas for many years. This year, with the encouragement of many board members, she threw her hat in the ring for the presidency and was successful.
Ms Dimitropoulos spoke to SBS Greek about the 60th anniversary celebrations, the club's efforts to increase its youth membership and the new initiative of cooperation with other Greek clubs to create a common strategy for the maintenance of the Greek heritage and identity in Australia.
