Brisbane police were called to a house on Midson Street in Stafford, where they found the body of a 49-year-old man inside. His death is not being treated as suspicious, but what shocked the police was the situation in which they found two teenagers locked in their room. The boys were malnourished, naked and wearing diapers. Footage seen by ABC News showed the boys wearing only diapers and playing on an inflatable mattress, in an otherwise empty room. Witnesses described the living conditions of the two teens as "squalid".
The stench in the house was unbearable. Even in the kitchen there were dirt and free chickens. I wish I had said something.
A man, who did not want to be named, told ABC he knew the dead 49-year-old father of the 2 boys for three years. He said he had been to his home 2-3 times. There were chickens and dirt even in the kitchen, while the two boys “were always locked in their room. I wish I had said something, " he said with regret.
Another video, taken by a neighbour, shows the boys again in diapers sitting in the backyard with a broken beer bottle. One of them playing with a sock. Neighbours said they had seen the man washing the boys in the back of the garden with a hose.

He would put them on a waterproof mattress and throw water at them with the garden hose.
Another neighbour revealed that one of the boys was known in the area as the "naked bandit" because he had been seen running naked in the streets several times. It has been reported that the teens have severe autism and are non verbal. Neighbours said their father was a single parent for 13 years and that he loved hies children but coudn't take care of them. He was also terminally ill, dying.
The boys were taken over by the Department of Child Safety into a hospitan where they are treated, while police are awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine the exact cause of death of the 49-year-old father.
