That did not stop him, however, from trying to deepen his connection to his adopted country by actively participating in a Greek Australian organisation.

Recently, he was elected President of the "Poseidon" branch of AHEPA. 

Mr. Michanetzis is a former officer of the Greek Navy, having retired with the rank of commander. He is currently working for an aged care company, in home care packages.
