French president Emmanuel Macron wrote in Greek on his personal page on Facebook urging Europe to "protect its sovereignty" in Eastern Mediterranean.
France's president on Thursday (Jul 23) said it would be a serious error by the European Union to not respond to provocations in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Speaking on the day he met with this Cyprion counterpart Nikos Anastasiadis, E. Macron said he wanted more sanctions on those who violated Greek and Cypriot maritime space.
Three days ago Turkey issued a Navtex which covers an area south of Kastellorizo, a Greek island, which for Turkey is a 'desputed' area.
