The ANZAC army corps was not composed only of English speaking peoples but it contained people who were of Aboriginal communities as well as various multicultural backgrounds.
Nowadays, the participation and the role of peoples from cultural backgrounds other than English speaking in the legendary ANZAC army corps are recognised by historians. Chinese-Australians, Russian-Australians, Aboriginal Australians and others wanted to contribute to the war by fighting for freedom. The ANZAC spirit gradually encompassed various peoples by the end.
