Australian Archbishop Makarios, spoke exclusively to SBS Greek, referring to the love he received and his journey to Jerusalem and the Fanari.


Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Australia, departed yesterday for Fanari and Jerusalem where he will meet with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos.

Prior to his departure for this trip, which included a visit to Finland and Estonia, Mr. Makarios has attend to the Greek Festival organised by the Greek Orthodox Parish - Community of St. John the Baptist in Parrramatta.

Speaking exclusively to SBS Greek his Eminence said that he had been briefed by Parish Community leaders on plans for the new Church to be built in the area, saying it would serve as an example in Australia as a whole.
