A knife-wielding man has been taken into police custody after he climbed onto the roof of one of Brisbane’s busiest tunnels earlier this morning and refused to come down.

Police shut down Shaftston Ave in both directions, forcing traffic to be rerouted and causing major peak hour delays.

The tunnel was reopened just before 2.30pm.
