At least seven people have been killed, and one is missing, in weekend flash flooding on the Greek Island of Evia. The victims include an infant child.

Rescuers are still searching for missing people after heavy rain and thunderstorms on the early hours of Sunday (local time).

"We have been in the mud since six in the morning. There was nothing I could do, I climbed up onto the table to save myself. I was alone. That's it, what else can I tell you?", said one survivor, while describing what had happened when the water hit.

The Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is expected to visit the region today (Monday)
