Just days after being threatened by fire, towns in Victoria's Gippsland are facing severe flooding, forcing thousands of people to flee their homes. At the same time in New South Wales, three homes were destroyed and one person injured due to a bushfire.
Emergency evacuations were ordered for areas in Gippsland, Victoria, with more than 130 homes threatened by flood waters caused by heavy rainfall.
The state's emergency services have warned that single-storey homes could be flooded in the east.
At the same time three homes were destroyed and one man is in hospital after a fire broke out near the town of Bega, New South Wales.
