Atletico Madrid managed to score three goals in extra-time and knock out of the Champions league, title holder Liverpool.

Atletico Madrid managed to score three goals in extra-time and knock out of the Champions league, title holder Liverpool.


The Spanish side won in the end 3-2 in Anfield and in combination of its win 1-0 in the first leg progresses to the quarter finals (4-2 on aggregate).

Liverpool levelled the tie with a goal from Georginio Wijnaldum. The game went to extra time were Jurgen Klopp’s side made it 2-0 thanks to a goal from Roberto Firmino. However, Atletico had not given up and with three goals snatched the win and the qualification (Marcos Liorente 97, 115’+1, Alvaro Morata 120’+1’).

Neymar helps PSG to win Dortmund and book quarter-final berth

In the other game today Paris Saint-Germain defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 and booked its place to the quarter finals. The scorers for the French team were Neymar (28’) and Bernat (45’+1’).

The German side had prevailed in the first leg 2-1 but in the end it was not enough for them to go through.
