The Chinese-Australian writer, Yang Hengjun asks from Scott Morrison to help bring him home as soon as possible. The Australian Prime Minister said that while Australia respects China's justice system, it will not apologize for standing up for one of its citizens.
Mr Morrison made it very clear that the insinuations that Yang Hengjun was an Australian spy are false. For the past 7 months, Mr. Yang has been held by Chinese authorities, and earlier this week was officially accused of spying.
On Tuesday he was visited by Australian officials and reportedly asked for help from Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison.
Australia has expressed concerns over Mr. Yang but China has repeatedly warned Canberra not to interference with the handling of Mr. Yang's case.
''We make no apologies for standing up for one of our citizens" said Mr. Morrison on Channel 9 and noted that Australia respects China's sovereignty before adding:
"But we do expect Australians, indeed all citizens, to have their human rights appropriately looked after."
