Cancer experts warn of risks from some social isolation lifestyle habits

Cancer patients are having to adjust their treatment management to deal restrictions brought on by the Coronavirus. But health experts warn certain lifestyle habits picked up amid the stresses of social isolation may result in more cancer cases in the future.


Cancer patients often face isolation in the best of times. 

The chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments can wipe out a person's immune system and test even the most resilient people.

The lock-down has also raised concerns about the prevalence of cancer-inducing behaviors like excessive alcohol consumption, a lack of physical activity and poor diet.
