A second death related to coronavirus has shook Newmarch aged care centre, within 24 hours.

The victim was a 94 year old man who was a resident at the facility. His death comes within 24 hours after the centre recorded its first death, a 93 year old male.

COVID-19 spread to the staff and the residents of the facility after a worker was infected without realising it and continued working at the centre for 6 days. NSW Chief Health Officer, Dr Kerry Chant said that 39 people at the centre have been diagnosed with coronavirus, 13 among them being staff members.
