A 35-year-old suspect, who is in custody, confessed the murders of five women and two children all foreign nationals.

The body of a fourth woman inside a suitcase was retrieved on Sunday from a man-made lake near the village of Mitsero, west of the capital of Nicosia.

The Cypriot National Guard confessed to seven murders, using online dating service to find his victims, foreign women who had come to Cyprus for work.

Officials fear the toll could be higher.
