The Cyprus talks have ended for now at Mon Pelerin in Switzerland by the level of deputies and experts on all sides of the Cyprus issue. It has been a very long and arduous process. Meanwhile, the president of the Hellenic Republic, Mr Prokopis Pavlopoulos paid a one day visit on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, after an invitation to him by Cyprus Archbishop Chrysostomos to be present at the 40 year memoriam service since the death of Archbishop Makarios III and therefore to re-emphasise Greeces position on the national issue with his Cypriot counterpart Nicos Anastassiades. On the other hand, the Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yidirim stated that Turkey would need to be treated like an equal member of the European Union if the Cyprus issue is resolved.
