UN envoy Jane Holl Lute will remain in Cyprus as the talks between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots hit a minor obstacle on Wednesday.

According to local media, the snag came about after Turkish Cypriot leader, Mustafa Akinci announced to Lute that he wished to add some further topics of discussion on the terms of reference, outside from those previously agreed upon. The matters the Turkish Cypriot side wants to discuss seem to be linked to the issue of co-governance.

The UN envoy will hold further meetings with the leaderships of both sides.

The president of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades has so far refrained from commenting on the situation.
