Daily coronavirus cases in Greece exceed 1,000 per day

For the first time since official records begun, the number of daily coronavirus cases in Greece has exceeded 1,000.

Greece recorded 1,259 new cases and 12 deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The areas of Serres and Ioannina will be placed under lockdown from Thursday onwards in an effort to contain the spread of the virus there.
