Dementia Australia recently launched its Action Week, in an effort to bring to attention, the issue of discriminations against people with Dementia.

The official theme of the year is ‘’Dementia doesn’t discriminate, do you?’’

A number of known dementia advocates gathered to speak about what exactly is discrimination and how it can be addressed.

Among the panelists were ABC chair Ita Buttrose, food personality Maggie Beer, interior designer Shaynna Blaze and advocate Phill Hazell.

The topics of discussion included issues such as structural discrimination and treating people with dementia as if they were not present.
