The 34th Greek Festival of Sydney, organised by the Greek Orthodox Community of NSW, yesterday (Sunday 3 April) presented an event titled "The Mermaids Melodies Music and Words from Mediterranean Lands". Featuring songs, poems, stories and images from Greece, Spain and the Arabic-speaking countries, with soloists Marina Thiveos, Ghada Daher-Elmowy and the Andalus Arabic Choir, and readings by Christine Kanellakis, it was a celebration of the music and experiences which link peoples around the Mediterranean Sea. Prior to the event, Co-Ordinator Alfred Vincent gave this interview to Themi Kallos.
