Early vote counts and exit polls from Wednesday's election in the Netherlands indicate that the predicted surge from anti-Islam, euro-skeptic MP Geert Wilders has failed to materialise. Prime Minister Mark Ruttes People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) has secured the most seats from the multi-party vote, claiming 31 to 32 seats, down from 40 last year.
