Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis nominated Katerina Sakellaropoulou, a female top judge, for the country’s next president.


Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced in a televised address that Ekaterini Sakellaropoulou, will be his party’s candidate for the post of the President of the Hellenic Republic

Sakellaropoulou is the first female president of the Council of State, the country's top administrative court.

If her candidacy is approved by Greek Parliament, she will be the first female president in Greece's history.
