"The Trojan Women" has been called the greatest anti-war play ever written and will be soon be performed at the Greek Festival of Sydney.

In the ruins of their burning city, Queen Hebuca (Ekavi) and the women of Troy still mourning the slaughter of their husbands and sons, await enslavement and exile.

One of the greatest of all antiwar plays, it is a timeless mediation on the moments of individual choice that separate death and life, despair and hope, past and future.

This is the story of Euripides' tragedy "The Trojan Women" directed by Steve Economidis, that will be performed at Sydney's Greek Festival.

Mr Economidis talked to SBS Greek about the performance and how contemporary it is.
