Gender equality is the focus of Julia Banks' maiden speech

Julia Banks, member for Chisholm in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs, gave her maiden speech at Federal Parliament. She focused on gender equality and her parent's story: "during the election campaign, my opponents referred to me in a spiteful and negative tone as a corporate high flying lawyer (like it was a bad thing.)" she said.
