Australia's gender pay gap has narrowed to 21.3 per cent but many companies still aren't taking direct action to ensure men and women's pay packets are equal.
More companies are analysing their payrolls to identify gender pay gaps but many aren't doing anything to bring men and women's pay packets into line.
The latest annual snapshot of Australia's gender pay gap shows it has narrowed to 21.3 per cent, with men earning on average $25,717 more than women.
But the Workplace Gender Equality Agency says while the pay gap has shrunk by a welcome 1.1 percentage points - the largest annual drop since data began being collected five years ago - men still out-earn women in every industry, occupation and management category.
