The Launceston Golf Club in Tasmania backed off from culling the populations of local species, after facing extreme backlash from wildlife organisations and people across the globe. obtained a licence to cull the populations of local animals, arguing that they litter the playing field.

The Launceston Golf Club in Tasmania backed off from culling the populations of local species, after facing extreme backlash from wildlife organisations and people across the globe. obtained a licence to cull the populations of local animals, arguing that they litter the playing field.


Due to the negative backlash, the Launceston Golf Club has decided not to proceed with its plan of culling the local animal populations.

The Club attained the permission from the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment. The Club’s reason for wanting to cull local species was that their feces littered the course. The decision sparked outrage in wildlife organizations and people across the globe.
