Greece loses to Brazil despite having a huge lead

Greece has suffered a setback in its efforts for a successful course in this year’s FIBA Basketball World Cup, played in China.

Greece has suffered a setback in its efforts for a successful course in this year’s FIBA Basketball World Cup, played in China.


Despite having a lead of 17 points, lost to Brazil 79-78. The game was for the second round. The result puts Greece in the second place with three points. However they need a win tomorrow night (AEST) over New Zealand to secure their place in the next round.

Win and qualification for Australia

The news are better for the Australian team which managed to beat Senegal 81-68 and qualify for the next round. Australia plays next (Thursday night) Lithuania.
