One, possibly two Greek coast guard vessels were involved in a collision with Turkish coast guard in the waters around Imia.

The incident happened on the waters around Imia. According to what is know so far a number of Greek fishing vessels in the area were approached by the Turkish coast, who told them to leave.

The fishermen contacted the Greek coast guard, which in turn dispatched two vessels. It is not known what exactly happened but one or both of the Greek coast guard vessels were involved in a collision with one of the Turkish ones.
