Sydney University Greek Society (SUGS), remembers AEK’s 1968 Triumph, on it's maiden European basketball title.

On April 4, 1968 a Greek sporting triumph took place when AEK won the European Cup in basketball in front of 80,000 spectators at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens.

Sydney University Greek Society organised a screening of Tassos Boulmetis' film "1968", which focuses on that special day for Greek Basketball.

In this film, Mr Boulmetis – who also wrote the script – describes the era through four different sub-plots, and paints a vivid picture of Greece in the 1960s, and the first year of the military junta.
