Greens candidate Jonathan Doig, who has been vying for the seat of Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison in the last election, has been charged with three counts of exposing a minor to online child abuse. The accused was talking daily to a 13-year-old girl in the Philippines from December 23 last year until he was arrested yesterday. They exchanged 352 images, some of which were child abuse material, and he has transferred $ 129,224 to people in the Philippines over the past 10 years.
Five other conversations with girls have been uncovered and police are still analyzing Mr. Doig's electronic devices, some of which are encrypted, so they expect to reveal more victims, authorities said.
