The resurgence of COVID-19 cases around the world is forcing authorities to rethink their strategies to deal with the Delta variant. In Israel, authorities are warning that while vaccination may lessen the impacts, it won't be enough to defeat Delta.


The COVID-19 Delta global surge is forcing authorities to rethink their strategies to deal with the variant.

Israel's Health Minister, Nitzan Horowitz, has received his third dose of Pfizer - a booster shot that's being offered in the nation to fully vaccinated people over the age of 50.

Despite this third layer of protection, authorities in Israel are still recording one of the world's highest infection rates - nearly 650 new cases daily per million people.
