Disability advocates are outraged at reports an intellectually impaired Indigenous boy was held naked inside a police watch house in Brisbane for days.

People With Disability Australia's Frances Quan Farrant has told the A-B-C the she's "absolutely outraged" that a child with a disability and with suicidal ideas has been left naked in a cell for three days".

Ms Farrant described the treatment as "abhorrent" and a "gross violation".

The A-B-C is reporting that the boy was pinned down and stripped by officers in the watch house in March and only had a blanket to cover himself.

The Queensland government has been under pressure over the holding of children as young as 10 in maximum security watch houses built for adults for weeks at a time because state youth detention facilities are full.
