The South Eastern Recovery College in Sydney offers a series of free classes called «Introduction to Mindfulness». The classes are aimed towards members of the Greek Community who struggle with mental health issues or who those who look after them. The classes are being conducted by social carer Antonia Kapsalis and psychologist Helen Paneras.

Through special exercises, the course aims to help the participants to reduce stress and to accept their emotions.

«Mindfulness is a skill that allows us to avoid overeacting about something as it is happening» says Mrs Kapsalis.   «That way we reduce our sense of unhappiness and increase our feeling of wellbeing».
