The name Bulgari is synonymous with 1960s Italian glamour. Richard Burton famously quipped that in the nine months Elizabeth Taylor spent in Rome filming Cleopatra, she learned just one word of Italian - Bulgari.Organised by the National Gallery of Victoria in collaboration with Bulgari Heritage the exhibition Italian Jewels: Bulgari Style brings together Bulgaris visionary creativity and the maisons leading women in a spectacular display of film, photography and glittering jewels. The founder of the company Sotirios Boulgaris was born in Epirus Greece where began his career as a jeweller. In 1877, he left for Corfu and then Naples.
